The Truth About The Health of Americans Versus The New “MyPlate” Government Food Guidelines

The new federal government’s evidence-based nutritional guidance to promote health, reduce the risk of chronic diseases, and reduce the prevalence of overweight and obesity through improved nutrition and physical activity is a giant step forward with the new MyPlate from the Food Pyramid it has been promoting for the last five years which has been responsible for too much of the obesity and disease in our children and adults alike.

This shift has come about thanks to such organizations as Organic Consumers Organization, Center for Science in the Public Interest, and the Environmental Working Group, all in spite of the vast multi-million dollar lobbying campaign to protect the Food Pyramid by major food processing corporations.

Our government was forced to face the fact that more than one-third of children and more than two-thirds of adults in the United States were overweight or obese, and that we are the sickliest developed country in the world!

As a result, the 7th edition of Dietary Guidelines for Americans places stronger emphasis on reducing calorie consumption, placing a heavier emphasis on vegetables and fruits, and increasing physical activity. Read the rest of this entry »

Splenda and Degenerative Diseases…Will You Be A Victim?

Not all Sweetners are Sweet!

Consider the meaning of the term “degenerative disease”.

The body is breaking down, degenerating and consequently malfunctioning and falling apart.

When something is malfunctioning and falling apart, common sense would dictate the first place to look.

Look to the materials from which it is made.  If the materials from which something is built or made —- including living systems —- is of poor quality, there should be no surprise that malfunction and breakdown —- degeneration —- results.

Poor quality includes refined and junk food —- the wrong type of supplements made with synthetic cheap imitation vitamins and inorganic minerals, food that contains insufficient nutrients, toxic bleach, food additives, pesticides, preservatives, trans-fats, etc.

Answer: Life is not possible without salt for humans, animals, and even plants!

It is impossible to achieve your optimal health in a salt-deficient environment.  In fact, a recent study found that a higher salt intake was tied to longevity.

The common belief that salt is bad for your heart and blood pressure is a complete fallacy.

Only people with congestive heart failure need monitor their reaction to higher intakes of salt.

And for everyone — it is imperative that you eat the right salt!

Salt in usually referred to as sodium chloride. These are the two main electrolytes found in all salt products, however, there is a vast difference in quality and effectiveness.

Is Your Diet Making You Sick?

I have lost count of the times I hear the lament “I always eat healthy — so why am I sick”?

What is distressing is that these people really work at eating healthy, but to no avail.

They don’t drink soda. They do drink lots of water.  They don’t eat cold cuts that contain nitrates or other prepared meats or foods.  They eat lots of fruits and vegetables as they should and as is recommended.

You would think, as they think, that with such a healthy diet, they would be getting all the nutrients they need for a healthy life.

So why are they getting sick?

The answer is—because consuming conventional food, they are not getting the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients they think they are getting.

Their life is being sabotaged by the large conglomerate farms who are the major producers of our conventional fruits, vegetables, grains, milk and cheese.

The same is true for the factory farms that provide us with the major supply of our meat and fish.

The soil of conventional farms is depleted and has been for the last 80 years.

It is a given that all life begins at the cellular level.

It is also a given that for your cells to function as healthy cells, they must have the energy level they were designed for, 70 to 90 millivolts.

At that level your cells easily absorb nutrients, convert the nutrients into usable components the body needs, then rids itself of the resultant waste created by this conversion process.

Energy also allows your cells to rid themselves of the toxins they absorb from the nutrients (food) you feed them.

When the nutrients you feed your cells contain high levels of toxins, as do most packaged and conventional foods available to us today, the cell’s energy becomes overtaxed, dissipated, and unable to rid themselves of all the toxins.

This condition causes a lowering of the cells millivolt energy level. This results in cellular dysfunction, inflammation, and the beginnings of disease.

In my last newsletter I promised to tell you how to lose weight without going on crash or fad diets, or cutting down on food consumption while everyone around you is enjoying a full plate.

Most of the public never gets to hear about the many proven ways to heal ourselves  because our medical profession is an antiquated dinosaur bound to drugs.

Our FDA does not, and will not, recognize “so called” alternative ways.

In fact, the FDA has made it illegal to claim that a nutritional product or alternative way can heal you. If it is not a drug approved by the FDA, your cure claims will subject you to heavy fines and or jail.

Over the past decade it has been made very clear the strong influence Big Pharma has over our FDA.  Sometimes you would think they were running the FDA.

To make our health conserns even worse, our USDA, who should be insuring that we get safe, nutritional food to eat, is highly influenced by giant food processors allowing them, through over processing, to destroy much of the nutrients in the packaged food sold in our food markets.

Why Are Enzymes, Especially for Digestion, The Foundation for Life?

All living things contain enzymes, whether plant or animal. No enzymes — no life — plain and simple.

Practically every chemical reaction in our bodies is a result of enzymatic action. The digestion of our food is mostly dependent on enzymes.

It is not so much how healthy we eat as to how well our food is digested so that we can absorb the nutrients in the food. We can only do that when we have enough enzymes in our digestive system.

Digestion is the first step in transforming food into the living tissues of our bodies and into the fuel needed to keep those tissues functioning. It is here we need to pay particular attention.
