Can Asparagus Cure Cancer?

Recently we received a copy of an email that has been floating around the Internet for some time now implying that asparagus cures cancer.

The email introduced the origin of the story and several testimonials from people with claims that asparagus did indeed cure their cancer.

Wow!  That simple?  Asparagus?  So I did my research and lo and behold, there is a basis for their claims.

Although there are no valid scientific studies to back up their claims, there is enough nutritional evidence as to the anti-cancer properties of asparagus that one organization has filed for a grant to begin these studies.

And from all I have read with regard to asparagus and cancer, I would encourage you to eat your asparagus if you have cancer or wish to prevent cancer.

It never ends. You know how bad High Fructose Corn Syrup is and how we have been blindsided by clever marketing into thinking HFCS is a healthy sweetener.

Well once again we are being blindsided by the clever marketing of a new so called “natural” sweetener implying it is a safe substitute for High Fructose Corn Syrup.

Science has proven conclusively that High Fructose Corn Syrup is a major cause of obesity, diabetes, and heart disease because of its 56% high fructose content.

This new so called “natural” sweetener is from the agave plant.  Ferment it and you have Mexico’s favorite alcoholic beverage — tequila.

Blue agave, agave “syrup”, or agave “nectar”, is nothing more than a laboratory generated super-condensed fructose syrup devoid of all nutrient value and offering metabolic misfortune.

Agave syrup is much worse than the High Fructose Corn Syrup it’s replacing.

If You Think You’re Getting Enough Vitamin D-3 From The Sun And Food You’d Better Be Thinking Again!

The sun’s rays that shine down upon us are UVA and UVB ultraviolet rays.

But only the UVB rays are vitamin D producing when they hit your skin.

Little known is that everyone living north of 35° latitude will get no UVB rays between the months of November through March because of the angle of the sun.

To give you some prospective, New York City, NY is in 40° latitude and Flagstaff, AZ is in 35° latitude.  Fully two/thirds of the U.S and all of Canada are above the 35° latitude mark.

As a further reference, the equator is at 0° latitude and gets the benefit of the highest level of the sun’s UVB rays, whereas the North Pole is at 90° latitude and gets the least benefit.

We do not get the same amount of UVB rays year round. As the seasons change, so does the angle of the sun’s rays.

In the summer, with the sun directly overhead, we get the maximum number of UVB rays.  As the season moves toward winter, we get fewer and fewer rays and in the winter, if you live in 35° latitude and above, you will get no UVB rays at all.

Influenza broke out at Atascadero State Hospital, CA, with the exception of the ward run by Dr. John Cannell.

Even though the flu jumped from ward to ward all around them, none of the patients in his ward became infected.

Is Your Diet Making You Sick?

I have lost count of the times I hear the lament “I always eat healthy — so why am I sick”?

What is distressing is that these people really work at eating healthy, but to no avail.

They don’t drink soda. They do drink lots of water.  They don’t eat cold cuts that contain nitrates or other prepared meats or foods.  They eat lots of fruits and vegetables as they should and as is recommended.

You would think, as they think, that with such a healthy diet, they would be getting all the nutrients they need for a healthy life.

So why are they getting sick?

The answer is—because consuming conventional food, they are not getting the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients they think they are getting.

Their life is being sabotaged by the large conglomerate farms who are the major producers of our conventional fruits, vegetables, grains, milk and cheese.

The same is true for the factory farms that provide us with the major supply of our meat and fish.

The soil of conventional farms is depleted and has been for the last 80 years.

It is a given that all life begins at the cellular level.

It is also a given that for your cells to function as healthy cells, they must have the energy level they were designed for, 70 to 90 millivolts.

At that level your cells easily absorb nutrients, convert the nutrients into usable components the body needs, then rids itself of the resultant waste created by this conversion process.

Energy also allows your cells to rid themselves of the toxins they absorb from the nutrients (food) you feed them.

Health Care Reform? – If it wasn’t so tragic, it would be a joke!

What is health care reform anyway?

It would appear to me that health care reform would mean ways to keep people from getting sick. Ways to keep people healthy.

That to me is real health care reform.

Instead we have the whole country battling over drugs and medical care while every year the number of people who develop a chronic disease grows larger and larger.

What is wrong with our Presidents — past, present, and probably future?

What is wrong with our senators and members of congress?  Do they all have their heads buried in the sand or is it all about greed and self-interest?

This is not a Democrat, Republican, or Independent issue— it’s about everyone!
