Recent headlines —- “Our Health System is Broke”. So what’s new?

Our government says it will give this a high priority and fix the system. Biggest joke of the year.

Why? Because our government no more wants to fix the system then it wants to cut its salaries in half.

Just about every senator and congressman or woman is being paid off, big time, in one form or another, through political contributions, favors, bribes, etc., by pharmaceutical and medical related companies.

The same is true for the agricultural giants and food processing giants.

Check out the history of Medicare costs. Every time the government fixed the system, it cost you and me a bundle more money.

The US has the costliest health system in the developed world. You would think then that we should be the healthiest nation in the world, but instead, we are the sickest in the world.

That is correct — we have more people who are obese, have heart disease, cancer, diabetes, arthritis, Parkinson’s Disease, Alzheimer’s, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, osteoporosis, and on and on, than any other developed country in the world.

Yep, we are Number One! Aren’t you proud of being part of the sickest nation in the world? What a distinction!

Medical science and our government have spent hundreds of billions of dollars on research to cure cancer, heart disease and other disease, and with all of the advances in our medical and drug science, we still have more people dying of heart disease, congestive heart failure, cancer, and diabetes than ever before.

Yes, our life span has increased statistically and so has the vast number of nursing and assisted living homes which are now housing millions of people.

So who should we blame for this incredibly sad state of affairs?

The drug companies and large agricultural companies who donate multi-million dollars to the political campaigns of politicians who then pass laws and subsidies in their favor?

The greedy politicians who accept these disguised bribes?

The lobbyists’ who pay off congress and bureaucrats?

Or the bureaucrats who are promised lucrative corporate positions for their favoritism to these corporations while in the service of the government?

Favoring these large corporations, our government has approved drugs that should never have been approved because they caused the deaths of tens of thousands of people.

Our government has approved food additives, food substitutes, and genetically engineered foods that are a basic cause for our nation’s terrible state of health.

Given all this, where specifically does the ultimate responsibility lie for the poor state of health of the majority of our citizens and the terrible state of our health care system?

Does the fault lie with congress, the pharmaceutical companies, big agribusinesses, lobbyists, or government bureaucrats?

Let me give you the answer — none of the above.

We the consumer, and the citizens of this country, are responsible. We have allowed this terrible state of affairs to happen.

Consider — there isn’t a company in the world that can exist without making a profit. No profit — no business.

So where do these companies get all their profits from? From people who buy their nutrition depleted chemical laden foods and poisonous drugs.

Is that you?

We are also responsible for the continued poor performance of our Congressional Representatives and Senators who sit on both sides of the aisle.

We are responsible for re-electing these self interested, glib mouthed, poor performers over and over again. We deserve what we get.

With our economy in deep trouble, and the turmoil in our country, has our country’s state of affairs become so bad that it can no longer be fixed?

No — I tell you it can be fixed — but it will take time and a revolution to do so.

I don’t mean a revolt with guns. I mean a revolt against our entire congress.

They all need to go!

At every election we need to vote out the old and vote in the new. We clean house and let them know why we are doing so.

We let them know that we have the power and not them. We let them know that if they don’t do our bidding, they are there for one term only.

We revolt against the big agri-businesses.

We buy our vegetables from local farmers as much as we can.

We buy organic.

We revolt against the mega food processing and stop buying processed foods and baked goods that contain lists of ingredients that are 4 to six inches long and contain chemical names we can’t even pronounce.

Our Bill of Rights begins with “We the people —“ . Well — we have no more Rights. We have abdicated our Rights to our politicians and it’s time we took them back.

In unity there is strength. We need to get the message out.

All political persuasions need to band together and clean house with your vote.

Vote out the old and vote in a new era. Vote with your dollar against the food companies who are poisoning our children and destroying our health.

Get back at the drug companies by getting and staying healthy.

Give yourself a running start to a new life. Start by eating and drinking healthy, and exercise. Then vote out the “Killers” in the next election as a giant step toward getting our Rights back.

To a healthy and better life. A new Congress and getting our rights back.
